 A contemporary house perched on the cliffs of Ventnor overlooking the English Channel, with a plan that responded to the tight site boundaries. The proposal was for an exciting and bold statement providing a dramatic 21st century house on an unparalleled site in Ventnor, which has over the last few years gained considerable accolade for modern architecture. The use of the light coloured render would give the building a lightness and “coastal villa” aspect, which would fit well both from the local architectural perspective and also from the broader long views, particularly from the sea. It also blends in and grows from the hillside with the use of traditional stonewalls and the terraces.
