SDBE Offices

The Salisbury Diocesan Board of Education required a new education centre facility from which to run their normal office activities, including a large teaching room, principle office, reception and refectory for visitors and staff. The southern section was designed with glazing to take in the views but is shaded by the over sailing eaves, spaces open onto the central high level opening windows which provide natural ventilation as well as light into the centre of the building and the large teaching room and office areas have windows and roof lights which again allow for natural light and ventilation. The front office and reception area have a curved stone wall which gives stature to the building, which is then extended into the landscape anchoring and integrating the building firmly within its context.
